Since assuming the starting role this season, SMU quarterback Kevin Jennings is among the most efficient quarterbacks in the country. On College GameDay from Athens, Georgia, legendary coach Nick Saban entered the Film Room and highlighted Jennings’ spectacular plays.
According to Nick Saban,
The first thing that appeals to me about him is his exceptional arm talent. He has already made every throw required to be a great quarterback,
His natural ability to run, keep his eyes on the field, and find an open receiver to make another explosive play. Many quarterbacks lack the ability to make plays like those out of the blue.
In terms of passing yards per completion (14.96) and yards per pass attempt (9.69), he ranks third nationally. With a passer efficiency rating of 178.6, Jennings leads the ACC in conference games. In yards per attempt, he ranks among the top four in the nation.
Saban showed off a few of Kevin Jennings’ Duke game clips, where he committed five turnovers. He went out and led SMU to a commanding 48-25 victory over Pitt in spite of that difficult performance. Saban was thrilled with his response.
